battery failure, TSB?

In the last two days, my truck has begun exhibiting
some strange starting problems: Slow to crank, or
cranks fine but won't fire, or starts but won't hold
an idle for a few minutes. Once running everything
works fine. Idles smooth at about 600 rpm; no other
problems.

Before starting it this morning, I put a voltmeter
across the battery terminals and only got 9.5 volts.
But I was able to start the truck and then got 14
volts across the battery terminals with the cables
connected. The voltmeter on the instrument panel takes
a minute or two to come up to 14 volts but it stays
there just fine.

I was talking with a Durango driver today who said
early battery failure is a known problem and there's a
TSB on it.

Anybody know anything about this? The truck is a 2000
4.7L with the heavy duty electrical system. If there
is a TSB, will the dealer replace a battery that's
less than two years old, even if the truck is out of
warranty?

Any help greatly appreciated.
