Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've got a 2000 Dakota Club Cab
4X4 with the 3.9 V6 and the 5 Spd. manual transmission. This has happened on
three occasions, where I get in the truck, start it up, and cannot get the
truck to go into a gear. None of them. Usually let the truck sit idling for
a bit, and it will eventually go into gear.
The first time it happened I wrote it off to being something frozen, not
allowing me to shift and then after it had idled a bit, it thawed out and
everything was cool. But that was a cold day with snow on the ground. But
the last two times it has happened it has been unseasonably warm out. I
called the dealership and they wanted it towed out there, because at the
time I was talking to them, it looked as though it was never going to go
into gear. By the time the tow truck arrived, it was shifting fine working
as normal. They have to find a problem because my warranty is amost up, and
I can't afford to be replacing clutches, transmissions, etc.
I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this problem, and if they
had, what the solution was.
