Isn't the 4.7 cast iron block with aluminum heads??????

You are not looking at all the specs. See at which rpm the maximum torque
and hp is developed on each engine. You may find more stump pulling power
in the 5.9 but better fuel economy in the 4.7. It all depends what you want
to do with the truck. Light duty driving or trailer pulling. Also I don't
know how many 4.7s have been around to go more than 200k miles but lots of
5.9s have! Also when it is time to rebuild, how many times can you rebuild
the aluminum engine compared to the cast iron one? I have a friend with a
85 ram crew cab with over 300k on his 5.9 and it is still usable. I am told
that the 4.6 aluminum Ferd V8 is a throw away and cannot be rebuilt. do we
know about the aluminum Dodge engines? I am not being critical just
answering some questions that are asked here!
