I had the same problems early on, used locktite etc, but
really torqued down that locknut....not a problem or a
tick for 20k miles (except when I crank 'er up first thing).
Then its just a few ticks and all is quiet.

Did I say I used locktite ;) I used a bunch. Probably have
a good excuse to buy some new R/T heads.
