My Dad bought a 87 Dak w/ the 3.9L V6 (regular cab, long bed). He drove it
for a few years and then gave it to me when I turned 16. I drove it, gave
it to my brother, he gave it to my sister. We all did routine maintenance
(oil changes, brakes, etc.) on it. The only problem it had was a cracked
exhaust manifold @ 266k, we put edelbrock headers on it. With the original
tranny, engine, etc., it died 4 months ago with ***397k*** on it. Pretty
amazing for the first year Daks were made. It now rests in a 'grave yard'
in central Pennsylvania. Hell, it never had the diff fluids changed and
only had the tranny fluid changed 1 time (@ 24xk). It was an auto.
