I have been told that the only benefit from synthetic is if you start using
it on a low mileage vehicle. I think 'dino' oil has a cumulative buildup
effect that synthetic doesn't (not as much anyway) so using on a high
mileage vehicle may not result in any greater performance.

I always thought the real reason to use synthetic was for the LIFE of the
engine, not performance.
