It might be more cost effective to buy a completely new motor assembly from
MP along with the tranny. Just a thought, but certainly worth checking
into.

I'm building up a 408 for use with a Vortech, and I will have over $8000
(US) in engine parts plus the blower kit which I already had, then all of
the machine and assembly work. 14000 Cdn may not be that bad a deal.

Subject: DML: Stuffed R/T Update (longish)

Hey Guys, I am having a bit of a problem with the R/T. As I mentioned
earlier, I have someone wanting to build a twin turbo 5.9 for this baby. He
finally came to a price for me and it is as follows: He guarantees me a
minimum of 500HP at the rear wheels or I don't pay a dime until it makes at
least that number. His total price for all this is $14,000 Canadian bucks.
The motor will be built to the nuts with all the good stuff and he is going
to use a lot of Turbo Technologies stuff out of Washington state. I have
heard of these guys and seen some of their stuff so I am not concerned.
Now here is the problem!!!!!!
The wife and I just returned from the west coast (Vancouver) While we
were tooling around, I was naturally snooping the wrecking yards and
dealerships. I found a complete but rear ended 2000 GTS Viper ACR that was
for sale. The body is garbage from the doors back, front end group is beat
up. Drivetrain is complete and running. The car has 12,000 miles on it. The
car is salvage title so it will never see the road again. They want $25,000
Canadian for it. The wife had a bird when I mentioned buying it for parts
for the R/T, but after a whole bunch of whining and crying, she gave in and
said I can if I really wanted it. I have promised to never buy another toy
for the rest of my life also.
<snip>
I need some input on this.

Thanks, Jeff
