Hate to say it, but that might be the direction they're going for the gen
IV Daks. Everything I've heard is that they're drawing from the Power
Wagon and Power Box concepts for the styling of the next Dakota and
Durango. The shape of the cab reminds me of the Power Wagon a bit.
Possibly this is what they've been thinking of.
Although the production version won't be anywhere nearly as ugly as the
concept... they never are.
