Jerry,

I'm not entirely sure. Wasn't something I really paused to listen for -
just panic setting in for the most part. From what the engine sounded like,
however, the problem was stemming from the engine not getting fuel at all,
or not getting enough to start. It was much different than the sound you
get from a dying battery... when it happened in the cold I thought it might
have stemmed from the bitter cold we were having, and the fact that since I
moved here, my truck is submitted to much stronger winds being on the side
of a hill - and the effect they were having whipping through my engine. The
second time killed that idea though. If it does it again, I will pause to
listen for the pump....
