I'm going to get the Sony P5 (not the P50) before Carlisle...It's very small
and has a ton of features...like movies (limited to size of storage). most
retailers sell it for about 600 but do some looking on the internet and you
can find it as cheap as 425.00 including shipping....

I agree with Lora about the HP cameras. I bought the HP PhotoSmart 912. I
like it because its through-the-lens viewfinder is very much like a film
SLR. It's USB interface is simple and the driver supports TWAIN so you can
pull pictures off your camera from within any graphics program that supports
that standard. Finally, the optics are made by Pentax. I've been an amateur
fan of Pentax for >20 years.
