Bernd is right on this one, there is no need to rev a 6 or 8
much past 5,000 rpm with a stock valvetrain and cylinder
heads, these engines quit building horsepower at about
4,000-4,500. Over reving any more than 5,000 is useless.
I also have dyno printouts on v6 and v8 magnums that show a sharp decline in
power after 4,500, max torque
occurs very low as well typically around 3,000 if not lower. oh' my dyno
results are chassis tested so these are
real world results, not dyno room controlled environment
