I had the same experience when installing tow hooks on my 99. The 4 bolts
holding the bumper & tow-hook mounting apparatus (coined "nasty bolts" by a
DMLer) fit none of my tools: 3/4" and 18 mm sockets (star and 6-point) were
closest, but the fits all stunk. It was so bad that when these nuts get a
lot of years on them they likely will be very difficult to remove.

Mystery bolt sizes are amateurish, Dodge should know better.
