My front seal was leaking so I decided to replace it (during the rebuild),
but I also noticed the vibration damper shaft was worn where the seal rides
(200,000 miles before the rebuild) but thought maybe a new seal would still
work. Turns out it doesn't! I know the ideal thing to do would be to replace
the 200,000 mile damper, but, not saying I would, but, since an oversized
seal would work, where would I find the right part number? National has to
make thousands of sizes.
The same thing applies to my rear tranny seal. After 2 seals, it still leaks.
That shaft is worn also.
So before I spend hours researching and visiting web sites, hopefully someone
can point me in the right direction!
