but that's the beauty of synthetic... you don't have to change the oil ever
3000 miles. you change it between 2-3x the normal cycle. synthetic is made
to take the beating because it doesn't break down like regular oil.

Subject: DML: Oil & Filters

I have 136,000 miles on my dakota, so you know I have had my share of oil
changes. But lately I have been hearing a lot of talk about people who use
Mobil 1 and the K&N oil filters. For the past 3 years I have been changing
my oil every 3,000 miles, using Pennzoil 10w30 and a fram PH16 Oil filter.
I have had absolutly no problems whatsoever. I looked into using Mobil 1
and the K&N filters, but when 3000 miles seems to come every month, its hard
for me to justify almost 3 times the cost of a normal oil change.

Unless theres a compelling reason why I should switch, I'm sticking with my
system.
