as a 4x2 guy here in Miami, i'm pretty satisfied with the wet traction of
the Michelin LTX M/S tires i put on my truck a couple of years ago. my only
problem is that i'm hell on tires. my first set (Badyear Invicta GL's)
lasted me 16,000 Miles. these Michelins are up to 24,000, but they are in
need of replacing soon. however, with them wearing down, i didn't notice
any slipping until very recently.

i don't know how the Michelin LTX A/T (all terrain) tires are, but if you
want a good street tire, go with the Michelins.

Scott,

My experience has been the same; the Goodyears will slide pretty easily on
wet surfaces. I'll stick my neck way out and speculate that the rubber
compound is harder than most in order to decrease rolling resistance,
improve fuel economy, and help the tires last longer.
This thread may turn up a lot of different preferences. The BFG All-Terrain
A/T (KO) has a pretty loyal following with the 4-wheelers. I have switched
to them and run the Mud-Terrains in the winter. I'm convinced that investing
in the AR-767 wheels and 32 inch Mud-Terrains for winter use helped keep the
Rochester area relatively snow free last year. (;-D)
