> Thanks for the question and interest. The owner of the vehicle is the
Service Manager at our dealership. He installed the 5.9L himself. He has
another Dakota that he did the same thing to and both are as fast as
lightning. The engine came from a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 with less than 10,000
miles on it. Total the engine has about 17,000 miles on it between both
trucks! Even the engine specification under the hood has been changed to
resemble a 5.9l. The owner has not skipped over one thing or spared one
expense on this truck. If you have any more questions on the vehicle please
feel free to contact me! You are a very knowledgeable Dakota guru to have
noticed. It is impossible to not like this truck. Trust me I have driven
it. I will check on the transmission.

all know that this engine was not available in the Dakota until late '98,
could you please provide me with a brief history of the engine and what
vehicle it came out of. Also, what parts were used to build it? What
transmission was used for the swap? Stock 44RE or 46RE?
