Thanks for the update John. Mine does the same thing, but I haven't had
the time to check for any cracks in those lines. I'm going to take a look
tonight. I hope mine is as simple as yours. Again, thanks for the update!

If you all remember I posted a problem with the vents switching from
the
dash to the floor then off while accelerating and Jon from St.Louis had the
same problem. Well I fixed mine today, probably the cheapest fix I have ever
done. First I checked the check valve from the manifold and it was OK, then
I started pulling all the vacuum lines running from the intake to the vacuum
ball to the firewall. All of the rubber ones were fine, BUT the plastic line
was broken 2/3 of the way through about 2 inches from the firewall on the
bottom(almost looked cut). I snipped the bad part out and put a small piece
of vacuum hose(I had in my parts stash) in between and everything is fine
(for now!). I was hoping it wasn't the vacuum ball leaking or the controls
as Jon suggested. Just wanted everyone to know, maybe now my wife will quit
complaining about the A/C. Total involved about a 1/2 hour and zero cents in
parts!
