The magnaflow is essentially a glass-pak muffler. Its straight through
flow, no chambers. They do get louder as the fiberglass shrinks from
the heat. I just put one on my 4.7 (with duals) and it got noticeably
louder after about 1K. It really opened up the low end on the 4.7, but
on 3.9, you may want to stick with FM since the baffles will give more
resistance to the exhaust flow. Nice thing about Magnaflow is that it
carries a lifetime warranty! Paul
