John,
I have a '99 V-6. It used to be very bad about that also and I was quite
concerned. I don't know when it stopped, or why, but it hasn't done it in
about a year or so now (I have right at 30,000 miles).
I recently went on vacation - June 20th thru July 8th. When I came back and
started the Dak it was quiet, not a lifter sounded. Maybe it was just
getting broke in!
Cal
