Oh yeah, I forgot to axe my questions. Heh.
I went to the body shop to review the damage Of course they told me
they'd fix my truck (cha-ching). I really rather not have them replace
the entire frame despite bodyshopboy's assurance that it would be
'better than new'. I loved my Dakota, but I've heard entirely too many
sob stories after frame damage. Would any of you consider a new frame on
an old truck? I didn't.
I asked if I could have the brand new BFG 31's I put on a few months ago
(worth about $500). They offered $350 (which I took). Evidently, had I
recovered the tires, I would've had to replace them with anything black,
round, and roadworthy. It seemed like too much trouble, so again, easy
decision. What would you do? :)
Any idea how much the resale value of a truck drops after such an
accident?
Now for the disgusting part: I am driving a Hyndai Elantra until next
week's truck auction. I'm looking for another Dakota (maybe a '99), but
I'm also considering another Ram (bought a new one in '96). I'm also
considering other full sized trucks (but we won't discuss that here. :)
I don't feel as manly driving an Elantra! hee hee.
