Ok,
I've gone through this truck doing whatever I can, and cant seem to find
ANYTHING that could be causing this damn noise.
This sounds similar to the noise my truck was making with the timing chain
probs... however I put the tensioner in there and a new timing chain...
(kinda funny my truck has <80k mi and its on its 3rd timing chain.
Anyway...)
I seem to hear the noise off to the driver sides engine compartment area...
when I pull out my good ol mechanic stethescope, I tend to hear the most
noise when I hold it on the top of my distributor cap...
A very reputable mechanic told me, it was probably a lifter and that I
should try running 10-40 for a while instead of 10-30. I am at my whits end.
I put full 3inch catback with a 3inch magnaflow, and the exhaust sounds
WONDERFULL, however I cant stand the damn tapping all the time
