How fast is the ticking ? You could calculate what might be ticking by the
frequency.
I had a small stone embedded in my serpentine belt and it made a slow tick
every time it passed the tensioner. Started when I put the belt back on
reversed but it was too slow to be a valve or rocker. I dug it out and the
tick stopped.
