<snip> .how fast do you want to go?" <snip>

Not quite as fast as Jason Priestly. :-(

Anyway, I did test several intake systems. AirAid was one that used the
stock airhat and the rubber accordion hose from the airhat to an aluminum
tube followed by the air filter. That one was second best but even with
that the K&N FIPK performed better, at least in my Dak. It could have been
because the airhat let more air in or it could have been that one-piece
airhat and the fact that the airhat is bigger allowed more air in or
perhaps less turbulent air, as some say, would have a better effect.
Certainly it made a bigger difference once the F&B TB was installed.

You'd be surprised at how much better a 4" tube with proper airhat
design does vs. a 3" tube with a factory airhat....let alone vs. a 14"
round Chrome Air Cleaner. ;)

But in all honesty, I've run both the K&N Gen-II w/heat shield and other
intake systems...they all perform well. Just depends on how much power
you want out of the engine (and ultimately how much you're willing to
pay). "Horsepower costs money...how fast do you want to go?"
