So with the contaminants in the oil...it doesn't work well anymore and,
hence...the term "Breaks down".
Even the best Synthetics will get contaminated.

INCORRECT.
Oil does NOT break down, the additive packages are used up after a
period of time, and the oil becomes contaminated with acids and
by-products of combustion. That is why it needs to be changed. The base
oil remains as it was when you poured it in.
