If you're changing the cam over to something with more overlap ("Lumpy"
sounding cam)...9.5:1 is fine and won't mess with the PCM. 10:1 is a
bit high and will also (definitely) require Super Unleaded (maybe some
custom programming as well). Of the three 408's we've helped out with
(or built)...9.5:1 is perfect.

Has anyone done a engine build and increased the compression ratio to
say 9.5 or 10.0 to 1 on a natually-aspirated performance build up in a
late model computer-controlled EFI vehicle? I'm betting the PCM will not
care one way or the other, as long as the engine stays out of
detonation. Are the 408 STROKER style engines left at the standard
8.5-9.0 ratio or are they increased?
