OK, ya made me do it!
I pulled the right front wheel.
I have a '99 with a build date of 11/98. 46,000 miles, original rotors and
pads, no rattles. Mine looks like your original picture (temp 01191). The
outboard shoe is different than the inboard shoe in that it has a retainer
spring. One spring leaf pointing down to the lower pad mounting and pressed
against the side of the pad mount.
I did notice in your second picture (temp 01202) that you have hooked the
spring OVER the corner of the pad mount instead of bearing against the side.
The service manual shows the spring installed as in your first picture. I
don't know if this will make any difference.
