A light coating, sure, but soaked, doesn't sound well and would have me
inspecting the bottom of the barrel.
Its a freebee to check it at home, and only takes 5 minutes.
But I agree that a light coating would be normal in the factory installed
position.

It's actually normal for the IAT sensor to have a light coating of oil
on it. Remember, the PCV system sucks oil vapors back into the intake
system...the IAT sensor (when installed in the manifold) gets coated
with oil.

The goo is abnormal. Try soaking it in alcohol. To check the bellypan
gasket, pull the airhat, open the TB butterflies, and peer down with a
flash light. If there is more than a light coating of oil, you probably
have a bad belly pan gasket. TonyC
