Tim,
Don't believe your problem is injector related. Since you mention it only
happens when cold, check your ignition switch. Actually, you may have a
sticking relay on your primary side. I know this is a pain, but unless the
injectors are somehow getting voltage, there is no way the engine can keep
running.

as some of you know my dad recently bought a 97 Dakota with a 318. over the
last few weeks my dad has said the when he drives a short distance or moves
his truck in the driveway, when he turns off the truck it sounds like it
stops but then idles a second, sounds like it dies again, the idles again
for a shorter second and then dies for the final time. He said it's called
Dieseling??? is this what it's called? also, what causes this and how to fix
it?

BTW it's been cold since it's Ohio (30's-40's).
