: I've been considering the same thing for the last few years; and as they've mentioned.. they're having trouble getting the programming to work with the larger displacements; BUT.. I think with some higher flowing injectors; and an even larger throttle body or 2 with the wiring harnesses in parallel; IF the cam is kept reasonable( I doubt you'd be able to put a cam in it for 800HP and expect the PCM to figure it out) I've been thinking if we used a complete V8 harness.. and adapted all the newer sensors
to the BB. It shouldn't be too unrealistic. You'll need to use either a manual tranny or give up OD though.. I haven't seen any OD AT's for the BB's.
: I may have found myself a 413 to replace my little 2.5L one day.
: And improvising would still save thousands over using an aftermarket kit.

As much as I like Mopar... If you were considering doing something
like that and retrofitting an OEM EFI system to a BB Mopar, I would
probably be looking at using something like a Ford 5.0 setup as the
base. They are more plentiful and there are a lot more options as
far as modifying the programming goes - I believe there are even setups
where you can plug your laptop into the Ford computer like you would
with an aftermarket EFI setup.

IMHO, the chances of success would be greater with the Ford setup
than if you started with any of the very closely guarded, shrouded in
mystery Mopar EFI systems.

Oh, also there are DIY EFI setups out there. There is one by the
name of MegaSquirt which is dirt cheap and there are people using it
to run everything from motorcycles to big blocks. Might be something
to look into - you can probably find info on the MegaSquirt via a
'net search; there is a fairly active mailing list for it as well.

As far as a BB OD AT goes, I am pretty sure the A518 can be modified
to work. There is also the Gear Vendors overdrive unit, though it is
pricey.
