With MB technology in this area, I think in the future, more DC production
vehicle will received this.

I read that about returning to center too. I thought that was pretty
funny actually. If you think about it, yes, it can be made to return to
center when something in the steering box breaks or along those lines
but how do you get it to return to center when say a tie rod breaks.
Maybe they did figure it out but I also see a lot of problem with it and
alignment problems in the rear end. I understand that it being the drive
by wore system there would be no feedback but, at least for me, when I
tow and have to back up I like the feeling cause it kind of helps you
know what going on back there. Might be just me but I like the feeling.

Drive by wire systems do intrigue me though. If it is built with a
simulated feedback then I can see the benefits in the area of weight
savings and more under hood room.

I read a magazine dedicated to trailer towing. While I am no GM fan,
this
system sounds good "on paper". Since it is a "drive by wire" system,
there
would be no feeling in the steering wheel. Regarding towing or system
failure: the rear steering system mechanically returns to center when
anything fails in the electronic control system. I am skeptical. I would
love to try it. I regularly tow a 27' long 4000 lb RV travel trailer.
