Resistors, - they fail - more frequently than you might imagine.

When I bought my 4x4 the blower worked fine - 2 months later it was dead
- I checked out the resistor - and all the contacts were corroded and
rusty. I cleaned them up with sand paper - reattatched it to the
firewall - plugged it back in - worked like new.

check your resistor contacts first before you buy a blower motor and rip
your dash out or replace your enviromental control unit. I have seen
these resistors go out on DAks like this before - they seem to be prone
to moisture and corrosion. Much cheaper to replace a el cheapo resistor
before you buy a blower motor.
