rear-end saga continues

sorry to keep bugging with this, but i'm trying to get the best deal
possible for the best parts. i made some calls today (Randy's
ring-and-pinion, Jegs, Summit, and a local speed shop). here's what i was
told.

Randy's Ring and Pinion
3.90- $187 (Yukon Gear)
Trac-loc- $201
Install kit- $70.27 ($130.27 w/ bearings)

Jegs
3.91- $276.99 (Richmond)

Summit
3.91- 276.95 (Richmond)
install kit- 45.99, w/ bearing $116.39 (raytech)

Murray Speed and Custom (local shop)
3.91- 250.55 (Richmond)

here's my question. should i bite the bullet and go with Randy's ring and
pinion, and use the Yukon gears (which they claim are quieter and better
than richmond) or go with the more expensive (and known) richmond gears? i
know i am definitely going with the Dana unit (trac-loc), but am wondering
about the gears, and which is better.

also... i consulted with several people, and was told to replace the carrier
for added power... what is a carrier? should i just get the install kit
(with bearings, without bearings)? i want to do a great build-up, so i can
put some power throught this rear-end, and not worry about it blowing up on
me during a run (in the distant future).

also, does anyone know of another vendor that carries these units other than
those listed above? i want to see if i can get a better price than those
listed. thanks!
