Take your chances. I've always heard that these are one of those things
that are legal to own but not use, but if you get pulled over and the
officer spots the mount, it's pretty difficult to prove that you weren't
using it and just stashed it. If you need to bring it, I'd put it in the
bed someplace. They usually have signs once you cross the border that
tell you that radar detectors are illegal. If there's any question, just
play dumb, say you didn't know you weren't supposed to bring it, so you
disconnected it and haven't been using it. Hopefully they'll take pity on
you and not take it away.

You probably already know this, but a speed limit of 100 does *not* mean
one hundred miles per hour. You have to look at the tiny numbers on the
speedometer for km/h.

I'm not sure if you get a flashing green light where you live (Utah
doesn't). If not, it's the same as a left turn arrow. That was the only
real surprise for me in regards to driving up here.

As for daytime running lights, those are only required on new vehicles
sold in Canada, but I still recommend you to use your lights. People get
used to seeing headlights on, and start ignoring anything that isn't lit
up. But I'm kinda paranoid about other people driving in to me.

Also, in case you don't already know, it's best to leave the firearms at
home.

I see stuff like that all the time. There's a huge number of ricers in
Toronto. I'm not sure if it's all 100% legal, but they seem to get away
with it.
