Let me clarify... Specialty sound shops *usually* have more knowledgable people. They build boxes to specifications, etc all the time, and have a wider range of selections, so have a wider range of knowledge. Circuit city sells 4 or 5 brands, while the sound shop will probably sell a dozen or so brands (sub-woofers). So they typically have a wider range of expertise...
