Well, since I started this thread, I might as well end it with my
comments....
First off, I'm glad I'm in digest mode and a patient person, because I
might have been prone to sending off a very nasty flame towards Gary for
his rude comments, whether intended that way or not. I read everyone's
replies, positive and negative, before I posted this.
Now, let me give you a tad bit of info on the cars that I have owned.
I started off with a '71 Chevelle SS when I was 16. I sold that my
second year in college and purchased a 1964 Buick Special (base model
Skylark) which I still own to this day (make me an offer and I might
sell it) which has 70,000 original miles, and a $7,000 paint job. I
drove this car until I graduated from college. In my senior year, I was
looking for a new vehicle to purchase when I took my first job, and
didnt like any GM cars at the time, so I ended up setting my mind on a
DODGE. I purchased my first DODGE in August 1989- a silver beauty, a
Shelby Daytona, Turbo II 5-speed that I had to sell a year and a half
later to buy my house (which I still own, and no it's not for sale) So,
needing a car, I bought a 1984 DODGE Shelby Charger, which I drove for
about 8 months, and then I sold it and bought a 1987 DODGE Shelby
Charger, which I drove for another year, and then I bought a brand new
1993 DODGE Daytona ES V6, which I drove for a year and a half, until I
was about broke again, sold it, and got me a TRUCK. So I bought a Mazda
B2200 to see if I liked trucks, it was cheap and in decent shape. Going
to a truck at this time being the car man that I was related to going to
DODGES from the GM's that I liked in college. So, since I liked DODGES,
I went and bought my first DODGE DAKOTA, a '92 318 A/T that I still
swear would beat either R/T that I have owned. I bought this '92 on the
day O.J. was acquitted. So, Gary, there is the LOSER that you were
looking for in this story.
Anyhow, I then kept this truck and bought a '94 DODGE DAKOTA 4x4 318,
which I kept for 2 years, then sold it and went back to driving my '92
DODGE DAKOTA. I drove this truck until September of 1999 when I bought
a 1999 DODGE DAKOTA R/T, which I kept until April 2002, and sold it and
bought another DODGE, this time a 2001 DODGE DAKOTA R/T, which I own to
this day.
I am looking to buy a used DODGE because I like DODGES, and I might
need a daily driver due to the relatively poor fuel consumption my DODGE
DAKOTA R/T gets, so I thought since I like DODGES so much, maybe I'd ask
my friends at the DODGE DAKOTA Mailing List if anyone knows where I can
get a nice used DODGE so that I wont have to go out and sell my DODGE
DAKOTA R/T, and get something else instead. This is the same reason I
wanted to possibly find an older DODGE Daytona, Shelby or Iroc model,
since they are the types of cars that brought me into the DODGE fold,
you see.
Anyway, I think my story may have shown who the loser in this whole
thread is (see the above paragraph where I mentioned his name), and I
appreciate all of those who replied about how much fun those old DODGES
were. Sorry for the shouting, but I thought it was appropriate that
Gary needed to understand the relevance of my posting to why I drive a
DODGE DAKOTA R/T today. And, BTW, I sold the '87 Shelby Charger because
the left front tire used to rub the transaxle on my favorite off-ramp
off of I-95 due to the extensive suspension mods I made and how quickly
the car could go through a corner. That car could out accelerate,
outbrake, and outhandle any DODGE DAKOTA I have ever owned. It pissed
me off so much that the suspension mods could take it but the car
couldn't so I sold it for a slower DODGE.
  Love to all,
Patrick
