squeeking sound from inside engine compartment

Funny squeeking sound matches engine rpm. This just
started. Can't tell if it's alternator or ? Could it
be water pump? WHat's the best way to tell if water
pump is going bad? My temp gauge says all is well.
Your expertise is welcome.
