Often, a water pump starts leaking as it fails. Wish I could help you more.
Is your voltage fluctuating at all? It could also be an idler pulley.

Subject: DML: squeeking sound from inside engine compartment

Funny squeeking sound matches engine rpm. This just
started. Can't tell if it's alternator or ? Could it
be water pump? WHat's the best way to tell if water
pump is going bad? My temp gauge says all is well.
Your expertise is welcome.

Thank you.

P.S. I doesn't sound like it's a slipping belt squeal.
