Hi Mike!

As much as I hate to say it....its most likely the bellypan
gasket. Looking down the throttle body is a little deceiving
because you can't really tell that well. I had a very small part
of the gasket to just partially fail and it would suck out about
1/2 quart every month. It might be *get that M1 time*. :)

Subject: DML: missing oil?? maybe belly pan

well another problem has occurred with my 94 dakota. yesterday i had to add
about 3/4 quart of oil, then today again... i don't see any smoke out the
tailpipe or any oily residue in there. no visible leaks on the ground
either. i looked in the intake yesterday. it looked a little grimy, but
not to bad. not sure how much oil i would see in there for this problem...
i know this is a common problem. i have 127k miles and never took anything
from the engine off... i heard the pcv valved can cause problems also.
mine rattle freely, that's good, right?? i may pick a new one anyway.. how
difficult to change it then?? how much do i have to take off?? it's a V6
with ac...
thanks...
