...My dak came with the 7 contact connector. Every trailer I have towed
required a 7->4 adapter. What's up with those other 3 wires?

Barry,
                Pin 1 - 0700 position: Ground
        Pin 2 - 0500 position: Trailer brake B (+)
Pin 3 - 1100 position: Trailer tow relay output (tail - marker)
        Pin 4 - 0100 position: Fused B (+) (extra 12 volt connection)
Pin 5 - 0900 position: Left turn signal
Pin 6 - 0300 position: Right turn signal
        Pin 7 - Center: Back-up lamp feed

Ok, so the 4 that are used are: 1,4,5, & 6?? How much does Dodge want for the other half of that connector (I am afraid to call) and or can you get it elsewhere? If I wire up to, say pin 1 & 4, is the wiring stout enough to handle, say a 50w light continuous? Occasionally, it would be really nice to have a couple small lights, mounted near the rear turn-signals, facing forward...but not often enough to want them there permenantly.
