Through Syracuse is the completely long way for you. I live in
Syracuse. It's *far* out of your way. Better to come up 81 (where in
SE PA are you?) to Binghamton, then cut across the southern part of the
state on I86/Rt. 17 That'll take you almost directly to Casa Steiger.

Actually, looking at MapPoint (cuz I have it installed and it's
convenient), basically get to Corning/Elmira however you want, then it's
something of a crapshoot. I86 takes you back south some, 390 takes you
up to Rochester, so you've got some backroads to negotiate for about 90
minutes.

I've been trying to find a better route there myself, but since there
are no interstates to make up an alternate route, I'm stuck with I-90
all the way around through Buffalo. Fortunately it's only about 90
minutes from Rochester where I'm hoping to move sometime in the next 6
months.

The DML BBQ is a harsh mistress. Anything but a 100% working vehicle
will be consumed by it. Even vehicles in perfect condition are ripe for
the picking.
