Most of the people I know are more interested in off-road performance
than on-road. With that in mind, I've heard lots of good things about
KYB Gas-a-Just shocks (comparably priced with the RS5000s -- to me,
the two feel pretty similar, with the KYB being just slightly
squishier) as well as both the RS5000 and RS9000s.

For 'average' use, I think most of the Monroe shocks are probably just
fine. Just remember that just about anything is better than stock :-)
