That is one thing I should have mentioned in my original reply...
When you place more load on the engine (i.e. towing), it gets
noticably louder.

When I pull my 21' boat out of the water, my 4.7L with the Flowmaster
50 series has a very nice rumble inside the cab and it's amazingly
throaty outside. I love it, since I don't have to deal with that much
volume all the time, but it might be excessive for a family situation
if regular towing is going to be involved.
