Yes, I did. Let me make sure I am doing this right. I disconnected the
negative battery terminal and turned the ignition on for about a minute.
 The check engine light went out, but returned after driving for a day
or so.

Did you reset the PCM (or at least the codes)?

I just replaced the cap, and still have the code. Shouldn't this be

Check the O-ring or seal on the gas cap. That's what caused the
DAKSY
to throw the P0455.... If you take it to the dealer, they will
blow
smoke thru the system to find the leak & bag ya for the cost of
the
test...& charge ya for the test AND the cap.... HTH,
