Actually that'd be a piece of cake to script. I've got various PHP
classes and functions stashed away that would do all of that and then
some. The real trouble is the resources involved. Where would you be
popping the mail from? Ever DML user would have a (free, mind you)
pop account somewhere where all of the messages would be stored?

What'd be easier is a web-based interface to the newsgroup, so that
there is only one copy of the messages (a copy that already exists, in
fact).

Still, the only way I can see that being particularly useful is for
people who are out of town or otherwise away from their regular
computers to read and post.

It looks like from the consensus of what has been commented so far that
the best thing is to either no do anything or just add extra features to
what we have. Probably the best thing that would make everyone happy but
give website access would be to just mirror the newsgroup on the webpage
and give the ability to post from there. That way if you no longer
wanted the email or whatnot you could keep up with the active
discussion, see the different threads and replies (just like the
newsgroup), and post directly form the website. I would make this a
password setup that would help protect it some.

As for the pictures, again, it seems just having a photo server with
maybe a meg worth of bandwidth unless you donate a certain amount of
money then you get maybe 5 megs. I don't remember what Jon's setup is
for the servers and how much space he has avail, cost, etc. but, if he's
interested, it could be something worth looking into. That way
everything would stay the same yet make it a little easier to post
pictures and access the discussion and reply form the website.

Again, these are just thoughts so please understand that. If nobody
really wants any of it then no biggie and we can just forget it.
