You will get some oil over the side of the Valve Cover, but some people will put aluminum foil over there to keep it from splattering.. But as Gregg pointed out, probably the timing chain. I've run my engine for a minute or 2 with the valve covers off at least twice after I installed the 1.7 Crower rockers, and had only a little bit go over the sides. After about a minute or so though, it did start tossing more out, but nothing I couldn't clean up with a shop rag.
