Corrosive environment...you mean like upstate New York? I'd wager that
our 5 months of salted/sanded roads every winter is at least as bad as
your occasional weekend jaunt to the beach. As long as you take care of
the truck (wax the paint) and give it a good washing when you get home,
I don't see that you'd have any problems with premature rusting.
