A couple years ago, I switched from regular soda to diet, and started
having salad for lunch at work one day. I lost 10 pounds *in one week*.
The weight loss rate did taper off some after that. But I have friends
who had similar experiences.
So yes, I also believe that sugar-loaded beverages are definitely a
contributing factor. So are all our desk jobs. Snack foods aren't
helping though.
