You know... I wouldn't doubt this is what happened to my mom's '98 Grand
Caravan. The 3.3L v6 in it developed a dull thud that grew louder, and
we had it in a couple times to no avail, then it died. The dealer we
took it to must be a good one (it is a 5-star,) and the service manager
should get a kiss, because he didn't screw us for improper maintainence
- although we did have to produce receipts showing oil changes were
done. Luckily the receipt for the couple cases of Castrol we had gone
through were enough.

I must say most of the symptoms described on that page sounded like
belly pan gaskets. The thing that blows me away is the one where the
adjuster said that "yeah... the oil gets burned, then builds up
sludge..." and the extended warranty company denied the claim anyway.
