The oil change is pretty simple stuff.. I've just been too lazy to do
it myself. Lately I'm feeling like I want to be more connected to my
truck. I've changed oil in lots of other things (boat, small engines,
etc.) before, just not in my truck.

Yep, just as with motor oil and basically all kinds of lubrication.
It actually says in my owner's manual that you may want to consider
switching to a synthetic rear diff fluid if you're going to be doing a
lot of towing. It lubricates better and keeps things cooler. I
haven't looked into the price of the Redline here yet.. got an address
for a shop in town that carries it, so I'll probably head over there
in the next week or two.

For those who are using Redline's 75W90 in their limited slip diffs,
has the friction modifier that's already in there been sufficient?

Also, after reading some posts from the archives, it sounds like I'm
going to give the RTV a try instead of getting the gasket for the rear
and digging like hell to find a gasket that fits on the front.
