Re: Wrangler RT/S to BFG Radial T/A?

The radial T/A is a good tire. I used to run them on my mustang before I
lowered it... I didn't have any problems in the rain or chicago winters.
The tire stuck to the ground very well in the rain, and I was still able to
get a good hard launch out of them at the track. They lasted about 35K
miles on the fronts whereas the rears lasted only about 15K miles, and I
can't imagine why.... ;-)

I am suprised that everyone has so many gripes about the wrangler rt/s tire
though. Other than the fact that they lasted a little under a year (15K
miles), I had no problems with them whatsoever. I drove them (bald rears in
fact) in the snow without any real problems, and the only reasons that I
didn't buy them again was the cost of them, and the fact that they lasted
like 10K miles and the the sidewalls were way too soft for my liking. I
much prefer speed rated tires.

Anyway, I currently run Yokohama Avid s/t tires in a size of 245/70-15 on
the truck now. They made a huge difference in overall performance at the
stock ride height. They perform even better now that it's lowered. I still
only get about a year out of my tires though, weird.

I hope this helps you some!
